CALIFORNIA WRITERS CLUB TRI-VALLEY BRANCH FEBRUARY LUNCH PROGRAM

  • Deborah Grossman, Pleasanton’s Poet Laureate, will present at this month’s lunch program.  She will be speaking on Why We Write, and posing the question: Is Writing a Social or Solitary Experience?   Ms. Grossman is bound to provide some interesting and helpful answers, with her experience and success as author of Goldie and Me, a book about family, friendship and freedom seen through the lens of poetry. Deborah, the winner of several regional poetry awards, is also an independent food and wine journalist who writes for such publications as the San Francisco Chronicle, Wine Enthusiast, and Decanter.  This month’s meeting will also host the club’s annual Book Exchange.  The event gives each member or guest the opportunity to exchange a gently-read book for a book donated by another member.  The California Writers Club Tri-Valley Branch invites writers of all genres and experience levels to learn about their craft and share their work. For a seat, contact Annette Langer at (925) 484-5924 or alanger2@comcast.net, by Wednesday, February 16.
  • Price: $21 for members, $27 for nonmembers
